Kara (she/her) has spent her career working in nonprofits with the majority of that time focused on fundraising. She brings to Marin Theatre more than ten years’ experience supporting nonprofits with missions related to fine arts, filmmaking, and education. Most recently, she served as the National Director of Institutional Giving at Summer Search, where she leveraged the philanthropy of foundations, corporations, and public agencies to provide young people from low-income backgrounds throughout the Bay Area with access to long-term mentoring, college advising, and career services.

Kara holds two B.As in Film Studies and Public Relations from Loyola University Chicago and recently served as Co-President of the board of The Women’s Building in San Francisco. She hails from Cincinnati, Ohio, and when not at work, enjoys cooking, singing in her Oakland-based band, and going to the movies.
