Marin Theatre Company has been working with Bay Area schools to provide theatre experiences to students for 25 years. Our programs include workshops, Artists in Residency (AiR), live touring performances, and bringing students to see shows on the MTC stage at our Student Matinees.
“Theater addresses the skills which benefit children's education and development in five general areas: physical development/kinesthetic skills, artistic development /drama and theater skills, mental development/thinking skills, personal development/interpersonal skills, and social development/interpersonal skills.” -Gai Jones (Founder of CA Youth in Theatre)
Artist in Residency (AiR) on Hiatus
With so much evolving and changing regarding COVID-19 and its implications for in-person instruction, we here at the MTC education department have decided, in the interest of safety, to put our Artist in Residency programs on hold for at least the fall semester.
We’re itching to get back into the classroom with you all and we’re monitoring the situation as we head into the spring semester of 2022. Thanks so much for your continued interest and hang in there: we’ll be back together soon.
Student Matinees (SMATs) are Back!
We are excited to be able to provide live theatrical experiences to our audiences once again! Student Matinees will be up and running for our upcoming season. We hope to see you there.
