Whether you're interested in building confidence for public speaking, exploring a creative outlet, or simply curious about what it feels like to step into the world of performance, this fun and stimulating class offers a welcoming introduction to the fundamentals of acting.

Through improvisation, ensemble exercises, scene work, and practical acting techniques, participants will explore objectives, given circumstances, storytelling, and truthful performance. Along the way, you'll develop confidence, strengthen your communication skills, and discover tools that can extend far beyond the theatre.

Who is this class for?

This class is for anyone interested in discovering their voice, building confidence, strengthening communication skills, or finding a creative outlet. No previous acting experience is required.

About Daniel Johnson

Sixth-generation Bay Area native Daniel Johnson grew up in San Rafael and attended St. Raphael’s School, Marin Catholic High School, the College of Marin, and the University of San Francisco. Daniel’s career as an actor and singer evolved concurrently with his career as an educator and coach.

Daniel was a student and faculty member at ACT for several years before moving to New York City to teach at Hunter College, the New York Film Academy, and NYU. While in New York, Daniel’s numerous credits included working as vocal coach on Russell Simmons’ Def Poetry Jam on Broadway and serving on the Board of Directors of the Barrow Group Theatre and School off-Broadway.
