Christian Mills


Christian Mills is a nonprofit leader, fundraiser, and community advocate whose career spans philanthropy, the arts, special events, and entertainment. A longtime Mill Valley resident, Christian serves as Director of Fund Development at The Redwoods, A Community of Seniors, where he leads philanthropic strategy and major fundraising initiatives supporting affordable senior housing, health care, memory care, and services for older adults. After graduating from UCLA, he began his career in Los Angeles managing high-profile events for clients including Wolfgang Puck and Paramount Pictures, as well as Academy Awards Governors Ball dinners, before spending six years as a producer with Hyperion Pictures, where he worked on projects for Sony and traveled internationally to produce Marigold in Mumbai, India. Following the 2008 financial crisis, Christian transitioned to nonprofit fundraising, working with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and later the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where he helped secure more than $50 million in philanthropic support for student housing and a state-of-the-art performance facility. Since joining The Redwoods in 2019, he has advanced the organization’s philanthropic growth and long-term sustainability through major gifts, capital initiatives, annual campaigns, events, and planned giving. Deeply committed to the arts and civic life of Marin County, Christian has served on the boards of the Marin Symphony and Marin Theatre Company and is proud to have returned to the Marin Theatre board. He brings to his board service a unique combination of fundraising expertise, nonprofit leadership, event and production experience, and a lifelong commitment to strengthening the Bay Area’s cultural and nonprofit communities.
