culminates in performances at MTC.
Runs June 22 – July 18, 2015

MILL VALLEY, CA— Enrollment is now open for Marin Theatre Company’s Summer Performance Camp. This year, MTC offers programs for three age groups: Junior (a new program for ages 3-5), Youth (grades 1-6) and Teen (grades 7-12). For Junior Camp, parents have the option to enroll their camper in either a 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. session or 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. session, each occurring Monday-Friday for two weeks from June 29 to July 12. Youth Camp will run 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, for three weeks, June 29-July 18; and Teen Camp, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., Monday-Friday for three weeks, June 22-July 12. Junior and Youth Camps will take place at Ring Mountain Day School, 70 Lomita Drive, Mill Valley, and Teen Camp will take place at MTC, 397 Miller Avenue, Mill Valley. All three programs culminate in fully staged, public performances at MTC in the Boyer Theatre, the company’s main stage. Junior and Teen Camps will perform Mary Poppins July 10-12, and Youth Camp will perform Disney’s 101 Dalmatians KIDS, July 17-18. MTC’s annual summer camps have long been a favorite of parents and kids, developing campers’ skills in acting, singing and dancing, while also building self-confidence and helping them learn how to work in a team (as well as make friends and have fun).

New this year, Junior Camp is a two-week program for preschoolers and kindergarteners that will feature theater games, craft workshops, and singing and dancing classes. Junior Campers will rehearse three ensemble numbers for our camp production of Disney’s Mary Poppins, which will be performed alongside performers from the Teen Camp. The musical adaptation of this Children’s favorite will be fully produced along with sets, costumes and props.

MTC’s popular Youth Camp is a three-week program that prepares kids entering 1st through 6th grade in the fall for a full-scale production of Disney’s 101 Dalmatians KIDS, teaching them singing, dancing, acting, improv and theater crafts along the way. Campers will have the opportunity to work with theater professionals as they create their production of this beloved Disney classic.

For returning middle and high school students, Teen Camp is a three-week intensive program that builds performance skills, including script analysis, character development, and rehearsal and performance etiquette, while rehearsing Disney’s Mary Poppins. Campers will learn what goes into a full-scale professional production, all the while working with professional Marin Theatre Company artists.

ABOUT DISNEY’S 101 DALMATIANS KIDS
Artistically-inclined pet owners Robert and Anita live happily in London with Dalmatian parents Pongo and Perdita, stalwart dogs devoted to raising their puppies. Everything is quiet until the monstrous Cruella De Vil, Anita's former classmate, plots to steal the puppies for her new fur coat! Join Marin Theatre Company and all the dogs of London as they daringly rescue the puppies from Cruella and her bumbling henchmen.

ABOUT DISNEY’S MARY POPPINS
The jack-of-all trades, Bert, acts as narrator, introducing England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren't the only ones she has a profound effect upon. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that "Anything can happen if you let it."
