Marin Theatre Company's 2005/2006 season featured three World Premieres, including the season opener River's End, (book and lyrics by Cheryl Coons and music by Chuck Larkin) a musical that dramatized two theories of the mysterious disappearance of newlyweds Glen and Bessie Hyde in 1928 on the Colorado River.

The other two World Premieres were Splittin' The Raft (previously titled Frederick Douglas Read Huck Finn), direct from being workshopped at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Displaced, written by Cuban American playwright Rogelio Martinez that closed the season.

Also presented was Killer Joe, the smash off-Broadway hit by Tracy Letts, described as "white-trash Gothic with a comic-book spin," and Old Wicked Songs by Jon Marans, the story of a young piano prodigy who rekindles his love for music with the help of a passionate elderly Viennese instructor.

Both the opening and closing productions were presented during MTC's 2004-2005 nu werks Series as staged readings.
