The internationally acclaimed Dell’Arte Company brings a visually spectacular adaptation of Moliere’s classic comedy, Tartuffe, to Marin Theatre Company. Masks, music, and the trademark physical comedy of the Dell’Arte ensemble combine with the finely crafted satire of Moliere to create an evening of laughter. In Tartuffe, a religious charlatan takes over a family’s life until the tables are turned by virtue of his own excesses. One of Moliere’s most acclaimed plays, this work has a clear contemporary resonance for our times.

The Dell’Arte Company is an ensemble of artists who have created over 40 award-winning original works of theatre. In their 30 years of work, they have created shows that are physically dynamic, entertaining and thought provoking. The company has performed at festivals in more than 20 different countries, from Denmark to Colombia to Croatia to Egypt. They were recently named by the James Irvine Foundation as one of thirteen Cornerstone Arts Organizations in California.
