In this smash off-Broadway mega-hit, Killer Joe, a cop for hire, is contracted by the greedy Smith family, a dim-witted clan, to do away with their mother so that they can collect her insurance money. Killer Joe decides to bed the Smith daughter as a retainer against his final payoff. Set in Dallas, this black comedy revels in its white-trash stereotypes, and gives you permission to do the same. It’s pulp fiction. It is graphic and intense and is for Mature Audiences Only.

Tracy Letts, actor and playwright, was born in Oklahoma and is a member of the Steppenwolf Acting Ensemble in Chicago. As a playwright, Tracy has made his name writing about trailer parks and fleabag motels. His work includes Bug and Man From Nebraska (a finalist for the 2004 Pulitzer Prize for Drama).
