Educators
Offering in-school workshops, touring shows for young audiences, special performances for middle and high school students and a teen playwriting competition, MTC has many different education programs to engage students of all ages in the art of theater. We also invite educators to join us at the theater for FREE for Teachers' Night Out.
Keep in touch. Please sign up on our contact list to be notified about our education programs.
If you have any questions or wish to participate in any of MTC’s education programs, contact Director of Education Josh Costello, 415.388.5200 x3310.

Classes and Workshops
Spice up your curriculum by bringing a professional teaching artist from MTC into your elementary, middle and high school classroom.
-
School Tour
Let us bring theater to your elementary school! We commission and develop a new play for young audiences every year. All plays connect to the CA Dept of Education recommended literature list.
-
Student Matinees
Bring your middle or high school students to special weekday morning performances or our shows, then stick around and meet the artists. We can even send a teaching artist into your class to enhance the experience.
-
Marin Young Playwrights Festival - For Educators
Encourage your high school students to enter our annual playwriting competition for teens. And if you don’t teach playwriting, that’s okay – we’ve got playwrights who will teach a class for you.
-
Teachers’ Night Out
If you teach in a Marin County public or private school, you can come see our work for free at these special nights designed just for you – it’s our way of saying thank you for all your hard work.
