Marin Theatre Company will celebrate its 40th season of theatre with a lineup of 5 plays. The season is peppered with one West Coast Premiere and two Bay Area Premieres, including four-time Tony Award nominee Frozen.
MTC opens with a tale of Hollywood titans, Orson Welles and Laurence Olivier, in the Bay Area Premiere of the off-Broadway and London sensation, Orson’s Shadow by Austin Pendleton. This will be followed by the Dell’Arte Company in a new adaptation of Moliere’s Tartuffe. In the third slot is the West Coast Premiere of Frozen, an award-winning play by Bryony Lavery, in which three lives are explored in the aftermath of a brutal murder of a little girl.
To follow is the West Coast Premiere of The Good German by David Wiltse, the story of a prejudiced German professor who reluctantly gives refuge to a Jew during World War II. MTC’s 2006-2007 season will end The Subject Tonight is Love, a family drama penned by Sandra Deer which focuses on the strained relationship between three generations, and will feature the directorial debut of MTC's new Artistic Director, Jasson Minadakis.
